2023 Good Design Winner

We’re thrilled to announce Vale has been named a 2023 Good Design Award winner by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The Good Design award program was founded by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames to recognize exceptional design.

Designed by LAYER, Vale is constructed of a single PET felt shell made from recycled plastic waste. PET felt is a durable material that has the tactile feel of felt providing a visually soft aesthetic. This visual softness is further enhanced by the rolled edge and organic curves of the shell’s form. With its minimalist design, Vale can be specified seamlessly within many interior design styles. Available in a side chair, armchair, lounge chair, ottoman, counter stool, and barstool.
